Auberge du Soleil: Quality living accommodation for seniors in the Greater Moncton Region

Located at 125 Aucoin Street at the corner of Dieppe Boulevard, Auberge du Soleil’s handsome building complex is situated on immaculately landscaped grounds surrounded by nature. Auberge du Soleil is architecturally designed in a Y configuration so that each unit has panoramic views unobstructed by neighbouring wings. Its handsome exterior is clad in Cape Cod wood and century stone and its interiors boast 9' ceilings, heated floors, Boston headers, and custom-made furniture. Auberge du Soleil presents all of its communal amenities centrally located at the core of the facility with colour-coded hallways for easy access radiating out from the centre. At the heart of the complex on the first floor is an 80-person capacity diningroom that offers two sittings per meal and is facilitated by a modern, stainless steel restaurant-style kitchen. An onsite pharmacy monitors the medications of all residents, and a huge sitting-room with elegant furnishings around a cosy fireplace opens out to a spacious sunroom on the first level. A library with full Internet service, a hair salon, a craft room, and a laundry occupy the central core of the second floor which also includes a huge, multi-function room with its own kitchenette perfect for religious services, parlour games, or family get-togethers. Sunrooms on each level at the end of every wing offer terrific views with plush seating for relaxing, reading, or listening to music which is piped in throughout the complex. Auberge du Soleil is run by the private corporation, Investissements ChrisCat Investments Ltd. and is owned and operated by Catherine Girouard, B.Sc. Nursing, RN, and Christine LeBlanc, M.P.E., M.Ed., in partnership with Dr. Marc Girouard, Dr. Jean-Bernard LeBlanc, and Claude Poirier. Catherine Girouard is the Director of Nursing at Auberge du Soleil and brings to her post many years of experience in health care for seniors. Christine LeBlanc is the General Director of this unique facility . The previous co-owner of a senior care facility in Moncton, Christine LeBlanc brings to her role of General Director a background in Education and Administration. At Auberge du Soleil, Catherine and Christine will oversee a staff of 50-plus employees when operating at full capacity. Up to 90% of them will have had experience in special care. Requirements for prospective employees include CPR and first-aid training, a police check, and onsite training that is ongoing. Some staff members have a diploma in caregiver courses from area community colleges ensure that staff is well-equipped to maintain a safe and happy environment for each resident.
